Motleys Real Estate is pleased to present an historic home with origins to 1813 in Powhatan, VA will be available at an Accelerated Sale on Wednesday, April 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the property address, 1800 Capeway Road, Powhatan, VA. Interested parties can also bid online at motleys.com.

The country estate, originally referred to as “Midway” is a 4,339 SF, 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom home on 22± acres, which has been restored with historic architectural approval. The property is available in two parcels: #1) 1800 Capeway Road – home with a total of 10.8 ± acres, and #2) an adjacent 10.45 ± acres residential building site. The property could also be purchased in its entirety.

This family purchased the land in 1813, and while it is not known the exact date the original structure was built, it is known that the home was burned during the Civil War, in the 1860s. As times were scarce, a simple four-room log cabin was built, which stands today as the first four rooms, the two downstairs and the two upstairs when walking in.

As the economy grew, the house was added on to several times, including two large additions taking place in the 1960s and the 1980s. Today, this property has many opportunities for use, including a single-family home, an income producing rental property, wedding venue, and much more. It features wood floors, a master bedroom, ample living space and beautiful landscaping. Additional amenities include a fireplace, a sunroom, a screened porch and outdoor areas for entertaining.
