Ernie Rogers is a highly experienced auctioneer with Motleys Asset Disposition Group, bringing more than 25 years of expertise in real estate auctions. He has been selling real estate by auction since 1998 and specializes in lifestyle properties, including country homes, waterfront property, farms, recreational tracts, single-family residences, and land.
A respected leader in the auction industry, Ernie is a Past President of the Virginia Auctioneers Association and was named the 2004–2005 Virginia State Champion Auctioneer. In recognition of his contributions to the profession, he was inducted into the Virginia Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame in January 2019.
Ernie is a former active-duty United States Marine, a graduate of Arizona Western College, and spent 17 years in banking prior to launching his real estate and auction career. He also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, retiring in 1996 with the rank of Captain. A Virginia native, Ernie has traveled extensively throughout the world, bringing a broad perspective and disciplined approach to his work.
He is an Associate Real Estate Broker licensed in Virginia and North Carolina and holds auctioneer licenses in multiple states, along with several professional auction and real estate designations. In addition to his real estate auction practice, Ernie and his team conduct approximately 80–85 benefit, fundraising, and charity auctions each year through Blacktie Benefit Auctions, serving nonprofit organizations and private schools throughout Virginia, Maryland, Florida, North Carolina, and the District of Columbia.
Widely regarded as one of Virginia’s top auctioneers, Ernie is an active member of the National Auctioneers Association, Virginia Auctioneers Association, Richmond Association of Realtors, and the Women’s Council of Realtors.
Ernie has been married since 1978 and resides with his family in Midlothian, Virginia, where he remains deeply involved in both his professional community and charitable endeavors.
